Every area of garden at Bellosguaro Estate tells a story. From the structured elegance of the parterre to the whimsical spiral of salvaged bricks, each focal point reflects the passion of Peter Bellosguardo’s vision.

Guests on our Open Garden days, or photographers looking for a timeless backdrop, are free to explore the six defining stages of the estate.

Parterre di Pasquale

Named after Peter’s father, Pasquale, the parterre garden features David Austin roses, clipped topiary conifers, and rosemary hedges, all framed with symmetry and precision.

Inspired by Tuscan courtyards, this space honours the Bellosguaro family’s Italian roots.

Paola’s Patch

Paola’s Patch celebrates Peter’s mother’s love for the kitchen garden. A formal arrangement of scalloped stone walls, pencil pines, and espaliered fruit trees framing rows of seasonal produce, herbs, and flowers.

A nod to both beauty and practicality.

Michael’s Mercato

Created with Peter’s son Michael in mind, the mercato garden shed draws inspiration from Italian marketplaces.

Here, produce and colour combine in a lively, abundant space that captures the vibrancy of food and family gatherings.

Steven’s Spiral

An artistic centrepiece built by Peter’s son Steven, a third-generation stonemason and acclaimed visual artist.

The spiral’s bricks – salvaged from Adelaide Oval – echo themes of time and history, grounding the estate with both tradition and innovation.

Parco di Vista

The ‘Park of Views’ is an open lawn framed by English trees, overlooking neighbouring vineyards and valleys.

It’s a place to pause, take in the scenery, and feel immersed in the Adelaide Hills landscape.

Emma’s Landing

Built for Peter’s daughter Emma, this tranquil waterside landing was once where the children fed ducks with their mother.

Today, with its boardwalk and weeping trees, it’s a serene space that brings wildlife and family memories together.
