Rooted in Italian heritage<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Bellosguardo Estate was born from the spirit of family and tradition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peter Bellosguardo grew up surrounded by the passion of his Italian parents, Pasquale and Paola, who carried with them the values of hard work, food, and garden-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pasquale, a skilled stonemason, had an eye for symmetry and a love of roses, shaping both the land and the artistry that would inspire Peter\u2019s path. Paola devoted herself to growing vegetables and creating meals that brought people together. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their legacy \u2014 stone, soil, and love \u2014 still runs through every corner of Peter’s property, Bellosguardo Estate.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Beginnings at Birdwood<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In time, Peter set out to create a sanctuary of his own. He purchased eight acres of land in Birdwood, in the Adelaide Hills, where a potato farm stood waiting to be revived. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Much like his parents had done, Peter rolled up his sleeves and began the work of transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With vision, patience, and determination, the once-bare paddocks began to flourish. Where there had been emptiness, hedges, roses, and avenues grew. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where there had been silence, laughter and family life returned.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>

Stone, soil and family<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A stonemason by trade, Peter spent years learning from his father\u2019s hands, and went on to craft iconic stone walls that stand proudly throughout the Adelaide Hills, as well as private commissions across South Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it was here – at his home – that he combined this craft with his own passion for gardening. Teaching himself the language of plants, Peter shaped formal gardens softened by roses, avenues of trees framing vineyard views, and tranquil water features alive with birdlife. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every detail was designed not only to be beautiful, but to be shared.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Emma’s Landing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Growing up, Emma and her mother Kerry fed ducks at the dam, often joined by her brothers Steven and Michael. The sound of ducks and rippling water became a childhood rhythm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Michael’s Mercato<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The shed that hosted rollerblading and skateboard hang-outs with friends, has been renovated with the installation of windows that overlook the vineyard and grounds. It now hosts long lunches and markets.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Together, these places remind us that gardens grow not only plants, but stories.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
